Brazil nut: a fruit rich in Selenium!



Brazil nut belongs to a tree typical of the Amazon Forest, which is even considered one of the largest in the region. Brazil is the second largest exporter of this nut, second only to Bolivia.

This dried fruit has several properties such as fibers, proteins, magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, with selenium being the highlight. This mineral has the role of fighting free radicals in our body and helping the thyroid and the brain to function better.

Despite having a high caloric content it does not put on weight, but on the contrary, it is great for those who want to lose weight since it is rich in monounsaturated fat (responsible for speeding up the metabolism and burning fats).
